Mom would watch from the sidelines when we practiced so Dad felt she needed to join in. The M in MT Balloons is Mary who was started twisting by her husband Tom (yea he is the T) giving her a balloon twisting starter kit for her birthday. She found how much fun it was when she could actually make what the picture showed. Soon we were all hooked. We found our hobby was giving a lot of pleasure to kids of all ages. We did a lot of volunteering or working for cost only that first year in St. Peter and practicing at the hockey rinks. We worked on learning as much as we could about the balloons and exactly what we could do with them. We continue to look for, and work on new designs. We have progressed over the years from basic hand pumps to using air tanks. That gives us the ability to go faster and have hands that are not quite so tired. Our children have helped out in many ways. Our son Joe is the only one active with the balloons. Our intent is to get balloons to as many people as possible at an event with the design they choose from the list we provide and in the color they want. The balloons creations we do for events are simple and able to be made fast. We have art work for over 50 designs. For larger events 12 to 20 choices works real well.
